“Ditch the scale & Pull out the tape measurement”

Hello fellow travelers:

Here with some inspirational update on my healthy journey. Lost 6 inches with consistent exercise & consistent healthy eating. The scale  have not moved in 8 weeks but 1 pound down.

However, I have lost 6 “inches around my waist and more inches on my thighs, arms and hips. Weird isn’t it?

See, here’s the thing. I have been diagnosed with Graves’ disease Hyper-Thyroidism over 2 years ago. It’s an illness that’s very difficult to treat. I eventually needed to have radiation to kill part of my thyroid to get rid of the Graves’ disease. Still remains, no cure for thyroid disease.  I have been having a really hard time to lose weight no matter how healthy I ate and exercise.

Once I joined True Grit Fit bootcamp club, and training with a trainer twice a week. I have been losing inches.  I find that getting on the scale has not been a source of encouragement, because I don’t see the numbers going down.

Why? You might ask. Well, since bootcamp involves body condition, HITT training, cardio and weight lifting. You tend to build muscle and muscle weighs more than fat.

Hence, when you build muscle, muscle will burn fat. That’s why it’s so important as you get older you incorporate weight lifting and protein into you’re regimen. As we get older, we lose muscle mass.

My inspiration to you, is when the scale starts to misbehaving. Ditch it to the side and pull out the tape measurement. That will be more accurate, eventually the numbers will start moving down. Hope you find this helpful, see you on the road of my journey. Thanks for joining me.
